Everything seems to be happening in slow motion -- yet the months keep flying by. We finally - after a LONG run in with the children's division - have received Paul's FBI clearance.
We figured that was the last bit of paperwork our agency needed to approve our home study BUT we found out that BOTH of our jobs had not yet turned in our stupid work references! And one friend had forgot to turn hers in .... so our social worker said as long as that stuff gets turned in she should have our paperwork finished and us APPROVED by the first week of September ... or so we're praying!
The wait, for me, seems to drag on. It wouldn't be as bad if we were actually on the list waiting for a call. I mean, it would (and will) feel like forever, but we would actually be near the end of this road instead of being stuck in the middle. I can't wait to actually write a blog saying our profile is up and we are waiting on a call!!! (I know, it'll happen soon enough)
The couple that is ahead of us has already received placement of their little girl but are waiting to go to court right now ... so our social worker said until they are finished we can't start anything on our profile.
~In Other News~
Without the support of some of our family we decided to open our race options up and accept any healthy situation we get chosen for. This will speed up our wait time - which is always a plus! We feel the Lord will not give us a situation we cannot handle -- He knows what's best for us and we should not create boundaries. We are just waiting on His time.
We also may go ahead and send a letter out to local OB's stating we are a local couple looking to adopt and if they have any women come in who are thinking about pursing adoption to send them our way. Just got to figure out how to word it and what all to state in it.
I Have Faith that this journey will be over soon and we will be starting another chapter in our lives with our new addition!
