It's just a given in life -- we always have to wait for something. Maybe it's what makes life worth living - the chance to always be looking forward to something coming your way.
We signed with our agency in September 08 after a 2 1/2 year journey waiting for a baby the natural way. In December 08 we received a letter stating they were going to make us wait until February due to my age. To be honest we didn't know about the age requirement the whole 3 months.
After February we were told the agency didn't have a spot for us in their program and we would have to wait until they did before starting our home study and profile.
Once May came around I decided we had waited long enough and let them know that if they couldn't do our home study we were going to go ahead and get it done at another agency. They told us that they could do the home study and they would just file it under an independent adoption. Once they had a place for us on the program list we would move up and start working one on one with them.
Yesterday I dropped in to see how things were going and found that one of the 4 couples we have been waiting on got a match and if all goes well may be getting placement this weekend!! Praise God. My heart goes out to them seeing as it's such a special time. I pray it all goes well.
Since we are next in line this will move us up to the viewing list where pregnant mothers and fathers can view our profile and choose adoptive parents for their baby.
Our social worker is still working on the rest of our home study paperwork but everything should be done by the end of July!! Hopefully August brings us the good news of finally getting on the "waiting" list for a baby! (Sounds weird saying we're waiting to be waiting. But that's how life goes).
